The Adventures of Kween Jhonabelle

On the 18th of April, the school conducted a film showing, entitled, The Adventures of Kween Jhonabelle. At first, I thought the movie is comedy, but I didn't expect the end of it.  

 

The movie started where Jhonabelle just got graduated senior highschool. Jhonabelle has a little brother named Jhanjhan. She also like to watch vlogs. They are both accompanied by their aunt. But then eventually, their aunt left them to be with its partner. Her aunt only left them with 20,000 pesos, and Jhonabelle doesn't even have a job yet, and she's still applying for college. But then, she's left with no choice. When she's with her friends to apply with college, the teacher of Jhanjhan called, for the reason that Jhanjhan is hospitalized. The doctor said that the immune system of Jhanjhan is just weak. Eventually, when Jhanjhan got home from school, he passed out. The doctor said now that it is leukemia. Without anyone to depend on, Jhonabelle tried to find a job but she had a hard time because she's not that gifted to be smart. She doesn't even know a basic grammar, and having a hard time understanding English. Luckily, her friend introduced her to a milk tea shop to be a barista. Her pay is not enough for them though. One day when her idol posted a challenge, she did it and got noticed by her idol. After that, she made an reaction video about this announcement, and that is when she got viral. Eventually, her friends pushed her to do vlogging, because of how little her income is, and Jhanjhan needs money to be treated. At first, her vlogs didn't have many viewers and she also has a little number of subscribers, but when she came up with an idea to do a prank video, that is when her life turned around.

She got to give Jhanjhan his treatment, and the chance to save up money. That's when his father showed up after 10 years after their mom died. When Jhonabelle confronted her, after that day he vanished again.

 

One day, her idol wanted to do a collab prank and it didn't turn out good. Her idol, pinpointed her even though is is not her idea in the first place, so she got several basher. Of course the people sided on to the idol because, it is the one who is more longer in the industry. After that tragedy, she got robbed, exactly when she needs the money the most because Jhanjhan is critical again. When she attempted to ask for help with the social media platform no one believed in her. The ending of this movie is when Jhanjhan already passed away right after Jhonabelle attempted to ask for help. After that, she attempted to go live again and yet, no one believed her again. 

That is how to movie ends, for me it is a bit left hanging, and also disappointed about how it ends, because Jhonabelle did not even had a chance to clear her name and got her brother treated.
